Cobian Backup

Cobian Backup is a Windows backup application. It supports scheduled work, and you can use an external server as a storage location. Several modes of adding files are provided.

New task

At the first launch, the application will prompt you to specify copying parameters. The configuration is performed in a step-by-step mode, the first step allows you to specify the source directories and the location where the archives are saved. To store the created backups, you can use a hard disk, external storage devices or set up uploading to a server via FTP. This allows you to save files even after a PC failure or software crash. Several backup modes are supported, including full, additive and difference. The latter two allow you to significantly reduce the required storage capacity, as only the modified files are saved during the next session.

Options

The built-in scheduler allows you to flexibly customize the start of new tasks. You can specify the frequency and exact time. A priority system is available. A full-fledged shadow mode is also supported, which ensures data availability during the copying process. For additional space saving, you can activate the file compression mode. Tools for protecting archives are provided. Files can be securely encrypted and password protected. For this purpose, modern technologies are used, which provide a sufficient level of protection. In the process of customization, you can specify the action after copying is completed. For example, you can turn off the computer, reboot or initiate the transition to hibernation mode. You can also specify an arbitrary command.
