SSD Mini Tweaker is a Windows application for customizing OS settings in the context of SSD interaction. This allows you to improve performance and extend the life of the drive. You can disable some services as well as hibernation mode.

Optimization

The application is presented as a portable version, all the functionality is available without installing it into the system. In the main window after launching, a list of available options will be available. To activate it is enough to tick the necessary items, confirm the action and wait for a message about the completion of edits. When hovering the cursor, a brief tooltip is automatically displayed, which allows you to find out the purpose of the parameter and decide whether to enable it. The Trim command is supported, which allows the system to promptly notify the drive of files that need to be deleted. It is possible to block the caching function, which causes additional load on the SSD. To improve performance, you can leave the platform core in memory. This action is necessary because this type of drive has a limited rewrite lifetime, which is the main reason for the shortened lifespan. Windows often utilizes services that have little impact on performance but initiate increased load.

Defragmentation

Another useful option is to forcibly disable the file defragmentation service. This reduces the number of overwriting cycles, thus extending the life of the drive. If your PC configuration involves two different types of drives, you can use different schedules for HDD and SSD.
