Busuu

Busuu is an application for Android platform that allows you to learn foreign languages on your own. The list is quite extensive: Chinese, German, English and others.

Getting started

Before you can get started, you need to register. You can create a new account using your phone number as a login, or quickly link a Google or Facebook account. Next, you need to select the language you need to learn. At the time of publication, more than ten destinations are available:

• Spanish;
• English;
• French;
• German;
• Chinese;
• Italian;
• Portuguese;
• Arabic;
• Russian;
• Polish;
• Turkish;
• Japanese.

The free version provides only limited access to materials. The paid version provides two pricing plans:

• Intensive learning;
• I am a casual learner.

At the initial stage, the application also analyzes the current level of knowledge, adjusting the study plan if necessary. If the user indicates that knowledge is lacking, the system will simply offer to start learning. Otherwise, a test will be offered, which takes 5-15 minutes.

Training

The application uses a lot of material of different types. For convenience, all the content is structured and divided into lessons, with a step-by-step progression. At one of the stages of learning, students have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge by communicating with more experienced users or native speakers. A separate section is dedicated to tracking progress in learning. This allows you to record how the vocabulary is replenished.
