AFUDOS

AFUDOS is an official application designed to update the BIOS firmware of motherboards from the major Taiwanese computer manufacturer ASUS. The program was developed by ASUSTeK Computer Inc. The software is an official product with manufacturer support. AFUDOS program features are aimed exclusively at ASUS motherboards. The main task of the application is to flash the ROM image. Owners of other motherboards may not try to install this utility, which will not be able to support third-party microprocessors. The peculiarity of AFUDOS is the absence of a graphical shell. Also, the program cannot be run under Windows. You can work with the application only in the DOS operating system.

Features

The key function of the program complex is installation of BIOS ROMs. It supports both official and unofficial images. But resort to the second group we do not advise. A complete list of compatibility with motherboard models, the developers do not provide. We can only emphasize that AFUDOS is primarily focused on models of old motherboards, the year of release of which will be below 2010. Using the program on modern hardware may cause some problems in operation.

How to work

First, prepare a clean USB flash drive. Even if the drive was purchased from a trusted store and has not been used, nevertheless, it will be better to check it for errors beforehand. Secondly, the flash disk is created under the DOS-system. To do this, you will have to download third-party software " Rufus ". After that, on the official website you need to find ROM, which will support the model of the "mother". Download it and place it in the ready flash drive. Here also place the boot file AFUDOS.exe. Load the program from the flash drive and enter the command in the window that appears. The string will contain the name of the firmware file. The program will start the installation and you only have to wait for the results.
