BOOTSECT

The BOOTSECT utility allows you to adjust the Windows program code that ensures system booting. This allows you to switch between the BOOTMGR or NTLDR (boot managers) modules.

Using the command line

If you want to display help information, you must use the help command. The nt60 construct activates the bootmgr boot manager, and nt52 initiates a switch to ntldr. The SYS command is used to add an entry to the system partition, if you want to activate the instruction for all partitions, you should enter ALL. The /force value allows disk volumes to be forcibly disabled, even if they are occupied by other active processes. This allows you to quickly unlock the disk to gain access. Such situations arise periodically and complicate the work with the system.

Application features

There is a functionality that allows you to restore the boot sector of the PC. All work is performed in the command line mode, but there is no complexity in the work. At any time you can get a description of the desired command with a list of keys. It is worth noting that the ntldr boot loader has been used for many years, even before the release of the Vista platform. In the first versions the boot file (ini extension) was used for customization. Newer versions of Windows use more modern components instead of this module. However, direct access to changing settings is difficult to obtain on modern systems.
