VHS REC

VHS REC is an Android program that adds a cassette effect to the recorded video. You can either create new videos using the standard camera or add the effect to old ones.

Purpose

The application makes a video recording using the slant-line sweep style. A recognizable block with timecode and date is added, as well as noise inherent in cassette recordings. The tool allows users to create unique retro-style videos without using professional software. This style can give any video a nostalgic touch and allows you to simulate the real recording on an old cassette camcorder. VHS REC allows without special skills in content processing to give a boring video clip the atmosphere of distant years, as well as to play a joke on your friends.

Features

You don't need to create a new profile or go through the authorization process to get started. The requested permissions are minimal - access to the microphone, camera and gallery to access files. The program allows you not only to apply the effect directly during the recording process, but also to load files from the device storage for processing. After the recording is complete, the program starts overlaying the effect, which can take several minutes - depending on the duration and quality. All video clips obtained in this way are saved in a separate section. The interface allows you to quickly share content in a social network or send to friends via messenger. While shooting, you can control the flash, adjust the zoom and switch between the front and main cameras. The timecode format can be edited by setting an arbitrary date.
