Camcorder REC is an Android program capable of simulating old footage with the application of a variety of filters, including vintage effect and noise. It allows you to add a date on top of the footage. The application has an easy to learn interface. It supports shooting videos in landscape, as well as portrait mode.

Utility interface

The developers have implemented an intuitive interface in the program, reminiscent of the one in the pre-installed software for shooting images and videos. The main part of the screen is occupied by displaying the picture through the lens of a tablet or phone. In this case, the mobile utility shows the image at once with the filter selected by the person. To start and end the recording, the user needs to click on the red circle. Also in the interface of the program there are tools that are responsible for changing the filter used, activating or disabling the flash, selecting the camera and so on. In addition, it is possible to zoom in and out the image by means of icons in the form of minus and plus.

Shooting video clips

The mobile utility is designed for shooting video footage in the style of old cameras. Before starting the recording, a person is able to select the desired filter to be applied on top of the clip. Among the available filters are: spectrum, vintage effect, VHS interference and so on. Additionally, the user is allowed to enable the date display. If you activate this option, the exact time, date and year will be present on the video. The date display is presented in the same form as on old cassettes. It is worth noting that the software intentionally reduces the quality of the video footage. This is necessary for a full-fledged imitation of vintage recordings.
