AbiWord

AbiWord is a Windows application that is a classic text editor. All common formats are supported, including ODT and DOC. It is possible to view and edit documents, format text, use lists and much more. There is a built-in spell checker.

Editing

After opening the program, there is an option to open a file from a local disk or create a new document by selecting a suitable template. The toolbar provides all the necessary functions for working with modern documents. A separate panel provides the creation and customization of tables. You can insert images or simple shapes from a ready-made set. Interaction with the clipboard is supported. An extensive set of options is provided for customizing the page format. You can customize margins, add footers, or display text in any number of columns. You can specify an arbitrary scale or choose one of the appropriate formats, for example, the width of the current page.

Tools

The spell checker automatically scans the text and highlights misspelled words. Clicking on a word displays more detailed information. You can edit metadata, which is automatically filled in by default. When saving a file, you can select the extension and specify additional parameters that apply to it. Features:
