OBS Studio

The main purpose of the OBS Studio application is to provide the ability to capture an image from the screen. You may need it for streaming, recording video tutorials, video game walkthroughs and so on. Before recording, you can set the basic parameters of the future video.

How to start screen recording

To start recording from the screen, the user will need to run a special exe file that will open access to OBS Studio. First, you will need to add a new scene using the plus button. After that, specify the path to save the files and define the basic settings for the video. These include: recording source, resolution, FPS and many other parameters. All of them can be defined by default or set to your needs. After entering the data, you need to click on the save progress button.

Online broadcasting

The previous instruction deals with working with recording. But the program also offers to perform direct broadcasting of content to the Internet. To do this, you need to select a special settings item available at the very top of the application interface. Before starting the settings, you need to set the bitrate parameters and the encoding in which the recording will be broadcast. It is worth noting that the bitrate and encoding will depend on the load on your PC and Internet requirements. After that you will get to the broadcast tab, from where you can start the broadcast. Note that the OBS Studio program allows you to choose the video card that will be used for live broadcasting. If there is only one, this parameter will be defined automatically.
