Software that is designed to test and diagnose original solid state drives manufactured by Samsung. Some of the functionality works fine with drives from completely different manufacturers. Samsung Magician is an application that was made by Samsung for comfortable work with their products, namely solid state disks.

Functionality

The functionality of the product includes a large number of options, each of which will be useful for owners of branded SSDs. The application is supported on the following Samsung SSD models: 470, 830, and 840 (including PRO and EVO modifications). We recommend you to check the full list of supported devices on the official Samsung website. First of all, using this utility you get full access to all information about this device. You can also monitor the SSD status and perform overclocking. By overclocking, your SSD can become 15-25 percent more efficient, provided your drive supports overclocking. There are three different settings that have been included in the application's functionality, namely maximum performance, capacity, and reliability. The program can be switched to another mode, which will allocate about 1 gigabyte of RAM for temporary storage of data about the drive.

Usage

As mentioned earlier, the application does not work correctly with all SSDs. Apart from the full list of supported devices, which is available on the official website, the software can partially work with other drives as well. You can find out the minimum characteristics, as well as track the performance with almost any SSD.

System requirements

For correct operation, the utility needs about 100 megabytes of memory on the HDD, but at the same time the program is able to absorb about 2 gigabytes of RAM. Samsung Magician works perfectly with Win XP and later Win 7, Win 8 and Win 10. The standard version has a localized Russian interface, which is a huge plus for users who do not speak minimal English.
