Etcher

Etcher is a Windows application that allows you to create standard boot disks. All common image formats are supported, including popular ISO, IMG and BIN formats.

Writing

After opening the program, the user needs to select the image to be loaded. You can select a file on a local directory or specify a link to an external resource. In the latter case, the application will automatically download the desired file and continue working. Next, you need to insert the flash drive into a free slot. Before recording, the application automatically checks the drive for operability. If errors are detected, a corresponding warning is displayed. It is worth taking into account that in the process of creating a new bootable disk, all information from the drive is deleted. It is recommended to check for important data and make a copy if necessary. It is not recommended to disconnect the drive during the recording process as this may damage it. A message will be displayed if the drive is successfully completed.

Cloning

Another useful mode is to create an exact copy of the disk. To do this, select the Clone drive tab. There is a built-in mechanism of protection against overwriting the system partition. You can clone not only the physical drive, but also the selected logical partition. It is possible to work in the background mode.
