SoftEther VPN Client

SoftEther VPN Client is a Windows application for working through an external VPN server. All modern protocols are supported, there is support for traffic encryption. It should be taken into account that this application is a client module. To deploy the whole infrastructure, you need to install SoftEther VPN Server (server part) additionally.

Configuration

At the first launch you need to configure the connection to the server. This is done through a virtual network adapter. To proceed to this stage, click the Add VPN Connection link in the main window and enter the following parameters:

• port number;
• name of the new connection;
• IP or server name;
• password and login.

The mode of work through a proxy server is supported. In the settings, you can activate the option to automatically resume connection in case of problems with the Internet channel. This can be useful if such situations occur periodically.

Security

The program allows you to protect your corporate network from external attacks. All information will be transmitted in encrypted form, even if an outsider gets access to them, it will not be possible to read them. The developers have implemented support for all common protocols, including IPsec, EtherIP, MS STTP and L2TP. There is a module for automatic analysis of public VPN networks. To protect tunnels it is offered to use RSA or AES algorithm, which also meet all modern requirements. Detailed information about the configuration process can be found in the help section.
