Mindstorms EV3

Mindstorms EV3 is an entertaining and educational application that allows you to program robots made of LEGO constructor to perform certain actions. In the literal sense of programming - writing the initial move in one or another programming language - in this case you do not have to program. The user can create certain behavioral algorithms with the help of visual modules that control the functions of motors, motion scanners, lamps and other elements of the Mindstorms robot. The application is compatible with all Mindstorms designs and is very easy to use.

How to work with the program

Before you start programming a robot, you must not only build it, but also think in advance about the procedures it should perform. Of course, you can create a set of instructions first, although this is not recommended. Mindstorms EV3 in the Windows version controls the robot with a special transmitter (included in the LEGO construction set), which is connected to the computer via USB port. The interface of the application is a window, something resembling a flowchart, with a working area, on which visual modules for controlling the components of the robot are located. For example, if you have built a robot with a large motor, you can adjust various parameters in the corresponding visual module: power, rotation speed, port number (if there are several identical elements in the design) and others. Other active modules are configured in the same way.

Versions and instruction lists

Mindstorms EV3 can work in two modes: for beginners and advanced users. In addition, different instruction sets are available: basic and advanced. We strongly advise you to test the second set only after fully mastering the first one.
