MapFactor

MapFactor is an Android application for offline navigation. You can download maps of the desired location and use them without access to the network. There is a built-in voice assistant.

Customization

In the settings, you can select the appropriate interface language, as well as specify the units of measurement. If necessary, you can change the path of file storage, for example, to transfer to a memory card. This option will be useful if the main memory is already filled with other data. Maps from non-commercial mapping services OpenStreetMap and TomTom are used. The platforms provide high-quality content and have been working in this direction for a long time. It is possible to specify a default source.

Navigation

The application allows you to download detailed maps of Asia, Europe, Oceania, Africa and America. After downloading, it is recommended to specify the mode of travel at once, so that the program can correctly lay out the route. Navigation for cars, bicycles, buses, motorcycles, trucks and pedestrians is implemented. The program takes into account the capabilities of the selected mode of travel to optimize the route. A separate panel allows you to specify the types of roads that can be taken into account when creating a route. The list includes toll roads, railroad and ferry crossings, paths and so on. Routing between countries is implemented, the necessary region is loaded if necessary. Available tools allow you to lay out quite complex routes with a large number of intermediate nodes. The search form allows you to search for various objects, including places of interest. Selected places can be saved in Favorites. After compiling a route, you can simulate a trip to familiarize yourself with the area. This mode allows you to identify all the peculiarities and shortcomings for prompt correction.
