Syncthing

Syncthing is an Android application for synchronizing data between different devices. The user can select the devices that are allowed access. After synchronization, you can work in real time, as with a regular folder. The project is distributed open source and provides the necessary level of data protection.

Permissions

After installation, the program requests the following rights: access to the internal storage and GPS data. It is also worth considering that the main work is performed in the background. The application must be manually added to the whitelist of the energy-saving mode. Wi-Fi network is used for synchronization, by default it has priority. Work through a mobile network is supported, but a stable connection must be provided. The optimal mode of operation can be specified in the settings. It should be taken into account that a significant amount of data can be transferred.

Working with devices

To synchronize the devices, you need to install a copy of the program on each device. After launching, a unique identifier is generated. To establish a connection, you need to find the Add Device menu on the required device and specify the generated identifier. After confirmation, a list of folders to which access is allowed will be displayed. The work is performed in a normal window, all basic operations are available, including copying and deleting. Pairing by means of a QR code is supported, which is much easier - it is enough to scan the code with the camera. At the next step you can explicitly specify a set of folders to which external access will be allowed. A separate button allows you to pause synchronization.
