ReWord

ReWord is a mobile client whose main purpose is to learn English words effectively. Users can enrich their vocabulary in several ways and consolidate their knowledge. A large number of word categories, voiceovers and several types of training are implemented. The utility is designed for portable Android devices.

Working with the application

Before starting a full-fledged study of words, the user must specify his native language. Several options are presented:

• Russian;
• Spanish;
• Turkish;
• German.

The next step is to select one or more categories. Here you can find lists of general topics and narrowly focused ones. Among other things, the utility implements the ability to load into the internal memory of the device a voiceover of words with high-quality pronunciation, otherwise it will be a standard voiceover with a speech synthesizer. There is a special section where users can change the categories of words. Among other things, it is possible to add words to a personal dictionary, as well as to create new categories. The application provides a rather convenient statistics of material assimilation for the past period of study.

Principle of word learning

Once the user has decided on a category, he will be presented with a number of words that he needs to sort them into familiar and unknown. This can be done by swiping left and right. This is followed by training, which consists of spelling the words, as well as selecting the correct option. The system automatically adapts to the user's knowledge level and provides already learned words for consolidation. This approach allows you to learn several words every day and consolidate them. According to the developers, if you memorize five words a day, you can master about 1800 words in a year.
