Android 12

Android 12 is an operating system for smartphones. In the new version, users can expect a modified interface and a number of new features. For example, there is a function to create long screenshots with scrolling for situations when you need to take a snapshot of a chat or a page on the Internet.

New interface

The developers of the operating system have updated the material design language called "Material You", emphasizing large shortcuts and more animations. The lock screen will greet users with a weather widget and an enlarged digital clock. In the notification panel, all icons are larger and the notification background is now opaque. A significant change in the interface is the new notification center. The icons in it are now rounded, and the distance between them has increased. Also, the color design in the notification center has changed. Now the gray shade prevails. The widget for controlling media content playback has also undergone changes. Users will no longer see data about the player and song. Instead, the widget now shows a close-up of the music album artwork, if available. A new program grid has been developed for Pixel Launcher mode users. It displays five rows and four columns.

New features

The new version of the operating system pays special attention to the security of user information. It is now possible to independently determine which programs will have access to the microphone and camera of the mobile device. Also at the moment of video and photo shooting in the background mode the phone's notification indicator lights up in orange or green color. With this, the user will always be aware of the device's camera activity. Users can now protect specific apps by setting a password. Also added is the ability to call emergency services by pressing the phone's power button five times. The developers have added a feature to create scrolling screenshots. This allows you to fit a larger amount of information on the image. After creating a screenshot, it can be immediately changed through a new editor. In it, users have the ability to add handwritten notes, inscriptions and emoticons. It is also possible to rotate the screenshot and crop it. Automatic system was developed for notifications. When you turn it on, a special algorithm will categorize notifications according to their importance. After that the system will decide whether it is necessary to use an audio reminder of the notification or you can do without vibration. Now it's much easier to share your wireless access point password. In past versions of the operating system, you had to create and then scan a QR code. This is no longer necessary. Users can share access with others in the vicinity

Installation

Beta testing of new versions of the operating system is possible exclusively on phones from Google, including:

• Pixel 5.
• Pixel 4a and 4a XL.
• Pixel 4 and 4 XL.
• Pixel 3a and 3a XL.
• Pixel 3 and 3 XL.

At the same time, the user must have the past version of the system - Android 11 - installed. In addition, you'll have to enable USB storage and developer mode. If the above requirements are met, then the user needs to download the OTA image to a personal computer on which the ADB FastBoot program is installed. After that, the smartphone can be connected via USB cable for data transfer. When the system image is transferred to the mobile device, the user needs to copy it to a folder called ADB and run the command line. In it, enter the command adb devices to check if the phone is present in the list of devices. If the smartphone is present in the list, the next command to enter is: adb reboot recovery. It will reboot the device. After rebooting, you need to agree to start the update and enter adb sideload command with adding the name of the system image. Then the phone will start installing the update.
