Kaspersky Rescue Disk

Kaspersky Rescue Disk is a tool for cleaning computers from malicious code. It has the format of a bootable disk with its own software shell and is used in situations when a PC cannot boot normally. In addition to the antivirus module itself, it contains additional tools for accessing the file system and restoring Windows.

Preparation

The downloaded image should be written to an optical drive or USB disk. In the latter case, you need to use a special application for creating bootable disks. You should also check the BIOS settings - the required drive should be the first in the boot priority list. Otherwise there will be an attempt to boot in normal mode. If all parameters are set correctly, the PC will start booting from the external drive when it is turned on. A new interface with antivirus and shortcuts to additional tools will be displayed.

Checking

The interface of the protection component is similar to the standard Kaspersky Anti-Virus application window. It is possible to run a full system scan or a selective catalog scan. If you have access to the network, you can update the antivirus databases. After scanning, a full report containing the number of scanned files and detected threats is issued. It is possible to select the area of scanning. The registry, boot sectors or external drive can be checked separately.
